Status and Distribution of the Black Redstart in Portugal
The Black Redstart is both a resident and a wintering bird species in continental Portugal, depending on the region. It is resident in the North and Center of Portugal, but also in Western Alentejo and Western Algarve. The Black Redstart is very common.

First sighting on our land in October 2022. Where we are, the Black Redstart is only present for the wintering season. There is at least 2 Black Redstarts on our land each year between October and March.
