Status and Distribution of the Black Stork in Portugal
The Black Stork is a breeding migratory bird species in continental Portugal, but a few Black Storks remain in Portugal for the winter. It is distributed throughout the interior of the country, in isolated and largely undisturbed areas, mainly in the basins of the Douro, Tagus and Guadiana rivers.

2022-2023 : Only distant sightings so far, with birds probably in migration, but it still amazing to live in a place where we can see the beautiful and majestic Black Stork!
2024 : 2 different sightings of a Black Stork flying over our land pretty low!
