The Journey of our 2025 Summer Veggie Garden in Portugal

This year, we have grown the most food in our veggie garden ever! Eggplants, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, zucchinis, bell peppers, kale, thyme, rosemary, etc… Spring/summer has been the best growing season for us yet, and what a joy it has been! When we moved in 3 years ago, there was no veggie garden, not even a flat space for us to grow food. With a good amount of work, and a great number of mistakes, this year we felt like it really worked.

We have had the chance to cook so many meals using our own organic veggies, and seasoning our dishes with our own organic herbs. Growing our food is definitely one of the best parts of living in our countryside’s homestead here in Alentejo, Portugal. Follow our journey below:

  • First we highlight below the hard work over time that goes into having a flourishing garden, check it out :

  • Then we take you on a tour of our summer veggie garden :

  • Finally, the harvest!

We hope you enjoyed. If you have suggestions for us on how to improve our homestead’s veggie garden in Portugal, we would love to hear from you so feel free to reach out!
